LOW-QUALITY USB-C DAMAGES A LAPTOP

USB C (USB 3.1) definitely will be popular, it's going to replace the current USB 3.0 dan microUSB on devices. What are the advantages? In theory it will be two times faster than USB 3.0 and can rival the Thunderbolt (10Gbps). Other than that it can also fight the Lightning as it could be inserted in any orientation, there's no upside or downside of the cable head.

As of now there are already a few devices in the market that are brave enough to adapat the new  technology. A few of them are the OnePlus Two, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Macbook Air and Chromebook Pixel 2015.

Though there are a few cable makers taking advantage of the rise of the USB-C by putting out versions of their own. The bad part of this is that the quality of the USB-C is not even good, it could even be said to be dangerous.

Thanks for Benson Leung, a Google Engineer who tests USB-C cables on the web (more specifically those sold on Amazon) for our safety. The latest case is that a cable from Surjtech (USB A to USB C) has damaged his laptop, Chromebook Pixel 2015, that he uses for reviewing the cables.

Benson made an analyis of the USB-C's board and found out that they actually miswired the cables inside.

So be careful when buying USB-C cables since they are still new in the market, if possible try to get ones from a respected brand for the moment.
