To all iOS users, Apple has finally made the iOS 8.3 available to the public. The new update which features a few notable improvements such as added languages for Siri, the ability to make a call directly on speaker with Siri, a more racially diversed emoji keyboard (which is also now has limitless scrolling), the ability to filter out messages from unknown senders and improved keyboard design during search type.
Other fixes as stated in the 'Learn More' section include improved performance for:
- app launch
- app responsiveness
- Messages
- Wi-Fi
- Control Centre
- Safari Tabs
- Third-party keyboards
- Keyboard Shortcuts
- Simplified Chinese keyboard
- Orientation and fixation fixes
- Family Sharing fixes
- CarPlay
- Enterprise fixes
- Accessibility fixes
For my iPhone 5S, the download was small requiring around 280~ish MBs. But I am not sure for other Apple Devices and from other iOS versions (mine was from the 8.2) You can update through Over-the-Air by going to Setting -> General -> Software Update. Just make sure that you are connected to a stable connection and Wi-fi if you don't want to be eating through your monthly data.
If you're out of space on your iOS device, you also have the option of updating through iTunes by connecting your iOS device to a computer.
So far I am not sure of the performance of the new iOS as I haven't spend sufficient time reviewing it. If there are any big problems, I would put it out here. (y)
*Not sure if device such as 4S would have better performance with this as iOS 8 is known to be slower than iOS 7 on it. Will be testing it out on my brother's 4S as soon as I can get my hands on it.
